It feels like it's taken forever, but it's finally happening: Wednesday Season 2! Creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have taken a full three years and promise that the second season will be even darker and more complex than the first. Let's take a look at what that might mean!

Wednesday Season 2 will be available on Netflix starting 6 August 2025.
Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy, where she now has to deal with her own family.
The cast features familiar faces like Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Catherine Zeta-Jones as her mother Morticia, and Luis Guzmán as her father Gomez.
New additions include Grandma Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), and Lady Gaga will also be joining the cast.
Direction will once again be handled by the brilliant Tim Burton.

2. What will Wednesday Season 2 be about?

In Season 2, Wednesday Addams returns to school – voluntarily, for the first time. That alone says a lot. But according to co-creator Miles Millar, things at Nevermore Academy won’t be the same: “Wednesday thinks she’s got everything under control,” he told Netflix’s Tudum magazine. “But she doesn’t.” The trailer suggests that Enid’s (Emma Myers) life may be in danger, and Wednesday is willing to do anything to save her.

And there’s more: “This time, we’re bringing the family to Nevermore,” director Tim Burton explains. “Your family at school – that’s the worst thing imaginable, right?” Anyone who grew up with teacher parents can relate. The family includes new characters like Grandma Hester Frump, played by Joanna Lumley. Wednesday’s brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) will also be enrolling, and pop star Lady Gaga is set to appear in a new role.

3. When will Wednesday Season 2 be released?

Wednesday Season 2 will be released in two parts: The first four episodes will stream on Netflix starting 6 August 2025, followed by the next four on 3 September.

Will Wednesday become the new Hyde master? The revelation that Tyler was the monster in Season 1 was a huge shock for Wednesday, especially since she had come to trust him. Will Morticia become the new headmistress of Nevermore Academy? One of the most commonly asked fan questions has now been answered: No, Morticia will not become the new head of Nevermore. Instead, a well-known Hollywood actor will take over the role from Headmistress Weems (Gwendoline Christie): Steve Buscemi (known from “Boardwalk Empire,” “Con Air,” and “Reservoir Dogs”) will portray the new headmaster, Barry Dort.
