Together with his brother Kili, Fili was one of the youngest members of the Company in The Hobbit. Nevertheless, he was in no way inferior to the twelve other Dwarves and Bilbo Baggins; on the contrary, he proved boundless courage – and paid for it with his life when he tried to defend his uncle Thorin Oakenshield in the Battle of the Five Armies.
