From the very beginning of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit it becomes clear: To be equipped for an exciting adventure, you need not only a great deal of courage but also a well-filled stomach - just think of Bilbo Baggins' lavish feast for his 'eleventy-first' birthday. With The Great Cookbook Inspired by Tolkien's Legends, we embark on a culinary journey through Middle-earth and follow in the footsteps of our heroes: Over 80 recipes take us to the inn 'The Prancing Pony' or to Rosie's pub 'The Green Dragon' and invite us to indulge in extensive feasts - after all, six meals are a must for every Hobbit!

Thus we enjoy Lembas, a cornbread that strengthened the companions on their long journey, or the rabbit stew that gave Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee a sense of home. Not to forget Bilbo Baggins' famous caraway cake! Fantastic dishes bring Tolkien's fabulous world into our own kitchen.

Loving illustrations and exciting background knowledge complement the recipes inspired by the Tolkien universe. A must-have for every fan!

Embark on a culinary journey to the Shire! With seven meals a day, not only the hobbits' mouths are watering. Hearty and sweet dishes for a first and second breakfast, a light eleven o'clock snack for in between and afterwards an extensive lunch with pork pie and other delicacies make up the first half of the day. In the afternoon, the hobbits enjoy a refreshing tea time, tasty sandwiches or summer cake. Dinner is rather modest by their standards - who can blame these friendly fellows after such a food-filled day? At the night meal, however, they really dig in: rabbit stew, herb trout, lamb shanks and much more are on the menu. It's good to be a hobbit! Chelsea Monroe-Cassel has collected over 40 recipes from the Shire in this book, bringing the coziness, scents and flavors of the hobbit holes into your home kitchen.

Elvish Dictionary
Elvish Dictionary
Not only since the film in which the elves use Eldarin in confidential conversation, Tolkien readers have been fascinated by the languages Tolkien has developed for his world Middle-earth. Usually only a few words or terms are handed down, but for the two Elvish languages Sindarin and Quenya, Tolkien has compiled word lists that make the reconstruction of a - albeit rudimentary - grammar possible. An Elvish dictionary with a grammar is a desideratum, and it is indispensable for all those who want to immerse themselves completely in Tolkien's universe.
